Become a Volunteer
Scouting is a whole-family pursuit, and we encourage parents, siblings and other family members to get involved.
Because we are a fully volunteer-run organisation, each family is expected to contribute. After all, the more help we have, the better experience we can all provide for the Scouts.
There are many ways to get involved:
- Join or support the parent committee: You can help plan fundraisers, participate on a subcommittee or assist in maintaining the scout hall and grounds. The parent committee was formed to support the leaders and scouts, and there’s always something to do.
- Become a leader: Don’t underestimate the fun our adult leaders are having as they guide the scouts toward new skills and greater self-confidence. Talk to any section leader about what’s involved and whether it might be a good fit for you.
- Just show up: Come to the family nights, help out at the sausage sizzles and working bees, support the scouts at Anzac Day events, and if you see an opportunity, dive in! Hampton Scout Group is filled with great families you’ll want to get to know better.
